AWANA stands for: Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed, 2 Tim 2:15.

Hello, we are glad that you found us! The Awana team at Foothills Community Church is looking forward to an exciting year!

If you’ve never participated in Awana’s before, let me tell you a little about what to expect. There are three main activities that take place each Wednesday evening: game time, handbook time and large group time.

Game Time: During game time the kids participate in game activities that focus on team building and sportsmanship. The kids and leaders especially look forward to this part of the evening.

Handbook Time: Every child receives a handbook when they register for the Awana club. The handbooks contain Biblical principles and memory verses that kids work through each week. The girls and boys are broken up into separate groups where they meet with their team leaders and listeners. The handbook is self-paced and provides opportunities for the kids to have one-on-one interaction with a leader.

Large Group Time: The girls and boys meet together for large group time where they hear a message that further develops Biblical truths learned during handbook time.

“If you would ever like to take a peak behind the curtain to see what’s going on, we’d love to see you, and give you a tour. We meet every Wednesday evening from 6:15pm - 8:00pm.”
